Sonora Natural History Tour

sonora_image003.jpg

This well balanced tour continues to be promoted via the University of Arizona/ Exploritas Program. The program is an informative look at natural history and culture in the state of Sonora. We focus on the biodiversity of southern Sonora, particularly in the Sierra de Alamos and the rich mangrove estuary of Yavaros. The region is unique because it's the southern extension of the Sonoran Desert and the northern limit of the tropics. It's one of the most biologically diverse areas in North America. You’ll love the rolling commentary of Greg Scott of the natural history as well as cultural delights like a traditional carne asada and seafood feast on the beach after a spectacular day bird watching in the mangrove estuary.
